I’m an HR Support Officer with Human Resources. I’ve worked with the Council for nearly 3 years. Currently, I support the Policy and Reward team.
I studied Law at university but changed careers…
I moved into HR. My first role with Buckinghamshire Council was HR Service Desk Advisor in 2019. This was an exciting role, allowing me to build my HR knowledge and experience. In 2021, I stepped up to the HR Policy and Reward team. Here, I have been involved with different areas, including job evaluation, benchmarking and reviewing employee benefits.
My responsibilities are varied, which is great for me…
I deal with all the job evaluation administration. I work with managers to ensure job evaluation templates are completed, provide advice and guide them through the process, as well as coordinate panels. I arrange employee benefits and keep these up-to-date. Plus, I support policy writing and research, and respond to policy and reward queries. I also advise employees on contract queries, allowances, or different policy processes.
I love being able to help our colleagues resolve problems and achieve their end goals…
Advising and guiding colleagues on HR policy and reward issues is definitely the best part of my role. My work is so varied, I now have the knowledge to help with different issues and queries, no matter how big or small. This gives me a definite sense of job satisfaction.
