Our new Resilience Service — creating positive change
Everything we aim to achieve for Buckinghamshire depends on having the right people in place. We want to recruit and develop talented, committed staff to provide the best services for our residents and businesses, and take full advantage of the opportunities offered by the new Council.
I have worked with the Council for over five years. As a Resilience Officer, I play an active part in supporting the Council’s vision to create and maintain a resilient Buckinghamshire through sustainable readiness, response, and recovery processes in support of our services and our communities.
Now is an exciting time to join the team. Opportunities to build something from the ground up in the emergency planning world are rare — most teams/structures are already established. By using our existing knowledge and experience of emergency planning, we can focus on working closely with our communities and other council service areas.
Our ‘One Council Approach’ is a brand-new initiative bringing together the best of the previous five councils to create positive changes for local people, communities, visitors, and businesses. It’s about embedding a positive and effective organisational culture where everyone is responsible and has a part to play.
The best things about working at the Council are the atmosphere and friendly colleagues, the good work-life balance and hybrid working. I am part of a great team — there is creativity, openness, a good sense of humour, and a willingness to get things done to provide to best service possible.
